Kobe Institute for Atmospheric Studies (KOIAS), launched in 2022, exists to establish and to develop Atmospheric Studies as a new interdisciplinary academic field. Our research projects span the wider intellectual and transcultural spectrum, exploring various phenomena related to ATMOSPHERE including “mood” (English), “ambiance” (French), “Stimmung” (German), “qifen” (Chinese) or “fun’iki” (Japanese). The main office is located at the Graduate School of Humanities, Kobe University, Japan.

神戸雰囲気学研究所（KOIAS）は、新学術領域としての「雰囲気学」を創出
・展開するために、2022年に設立されました。
英語のmood、フランス語のambiance、ドイツ語のStimmung、中国語の氣氛など、ひろく「雰囲気（英語：atmosphere）」に関連する現象を、分野／文化横断的な視点から包括的に研究しています。事務局は神戸大学大学院人文学研究科におかれています。
