Personal Background

Naoko Mizuno joined the Faculty of Letters and the Center for Global Engagement (CGE)—formerly the Global Education Center—as a Project Associate Professor for the Kobe-Oxford Japanese Studies Program (KOJSP) in 2025.

Her professional background includes Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Polson Institute for Global Development at Cornell University, Kyoto Sangyo University, and Konan Women's University. Her research explores women's life courses and career development, population migration, and study abroad experiences. She is also actively involved in the practice and evaluation of Intercultural Collaborative Learning (ICL).
